On May 20, a round table will take place at the Higher School of Journalism (HSE) in Moscow
On May 20, a round table will take place at the Higher School of Journalism (HSE) in Moscow. It will focus on the outcomes of the "Strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of regional media through training the multimedia approach in the coverage of social problems" program.The event will gather journalists - winners of the social multimedia projects contest, which was announced in the summer of 2009 after the Summer School sessions of multimedia journalism". In 2009-2010, the winners were implementing their projects.
The round table will involve journalists from Bor, Berdsk, Yekaterinburg, Belgorod, Novosibirsk, Shakhty, Voronezh, Omsk, Neftekamsk, Makhachkala, Penza.
In addition to presentations of the projects, there will be exchange of views on their implementation, discussion of the interim results and the difficulties encountered in the course of the implementation and the progress of the projects. There will be a discussion on the topics:
• New forms of interaction between media and the population - do new technology cause the emergence of a competent spectator, reader, listener?
• Journalism as a platform for dialogue discussing the problems of local communities.
• Social journalism in Russia today.
The Roundtable will bring together experts, NGO representatives, researchers and scientists.
The event will end with a visit of journalists to the Yandex company.
